Civil rights and police brutality
At Bianchi Brouillard Sousa & O'Connell, P.C., we fight to protect clients' civil rights and to seek compensation and justice for those whose civil rights have been violated. Civil rights law is the area of law protecting an individual's constitutional and statutory rights, including the right to due process, equal treatment under the law of all people regarding enjoyment of life, liberty, property, and protection. A civil right is an enforceable right or privilege which, if interfered with by another, gives rise to an action for injury. For example, a person's civil rights are violated when a police officer uses excessive force against them. We represent victims of police brutality in state and federal courts in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
